Rosemarie Niznik, D.V.M.

Relief Veterinarian

Dr. Rosemarie Niznik has practiced small animal veterinary medicine, both in private practice and as a relief  and emergency veterinarian, since her graduation from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990.  She enjoys educating her clients about pet medical care, and is highly motivated to provide both excellent medical and surgical care for all of her patients.  Dr. Niznik also has special expertise in dental procedures.

She frequently attends local and national continuing education meetings including the Western States Veterinary Convention, the International Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society Convention, and the Illinois and Chicago VMA meetings.  She also recently completed the Chi Institute veterinary acupuncture course.

Dr. Niznik is pictured here with her senior canine companion, Nikki.  A Chow-Shepard mix, Nikki is 14 years old and was adopted through an animal rescue group in Connecticut as a young dog.  Nikki is a lucky recipient of Dr. Niznik's new acupuncture skills!

Dr. Niznik is an avid runner, hiker and winter cross country and alpine skier.  In fact, she teaches skiing in Wisconsin, and is eagerly waiting for more snow so that her classes can resume!  She's also an Extra Class Amateur Radio Operator as well as a member of several radio clubs and leagues and an examiner for the American Radio Relay League. Amateur radio, also called "ham radio," is well known as a most important communications backup for our Federal Government in times of emergency.
