July 2007 Newsletter Highlight

Well, it has not been a shock to have so many clients tell me that they knew we were a talented bunch at Knollwood......but very few of you were able to figure out who was who, from the descriptions in last month's column!  Here is who we are, listed with our past or current talents:

SERENA, our Nurse Assistant, will soon have published her first comic book- and we're looking forward to seeing one of her current projects soon - her cartoon of Lizzie!

MICHELLE, our Front Office Manager, can knock your socks off with her prize-winning karaoke singing.

CHANI, who works with Michelle at the front desk, is our reigning math whiz and plans to become a high school math teacher.

The former "motorcycle mama" who is able to hold a handful of change and give you the correct monetary value without looking is our volunteer and former Front Office Manager, DORIS.

Hospital Nurse NIKKI's work with a cat rescue group - PACT - has involved raising over 500 abandoned baby kitties.  We think she'll be a great veterinarian someday!

Our Head Nurse JENNY sewed her own wedding dress and once worked with the dolphins at Epcot Center.

The owner of the big ugly rodeo belt with her name hand-tooled on the back and a buckle the size of a dinner plate, earned in stunt barrel-racing? That's our own "DOC BOO", as the belt will tell  you!

Whenever you need to find out if your honey got you a big ol' fake instead of a real diamond, just ask Nurse Assistant JAMIE.  She also works at a jewelry store, and will be applying to vet school next year.

Hospital Assistant MICAELA is our champion present-wrapper, and we're glad she decided to change careers - veterinary medicine will be a great choice for this "braniac", too.

DR. MITCHELL'S most heart-pounding job was "milking" copperhead snakes for their venom. She's very glad that she doesn't have to do this anymore, along with her #2 scary job skill - cleaning fraternity houses.

Back home in Poland, Nurse MARTA was lead vocalist for a punk-rock band, with her mother as vocal coach!

LEZLI, one of our great hospital Nurses, is the awesome cook and fool for going fishing whenever possible.

The absolute computer whiz is, of course, our Web Mistress KELLY, who delivered her second baby this month - a beautiful baby girl named Samantha!

Grade-school newspaper publisher and humane society volunteer ASHLEY hopes to become a veterinarian someday.  She's our newest Hospital Assistant.

The champion horsewoman who owned a herd of horses (and took care of all of them, too!) and won the Wisconsin State Quarterhorse Championship is our own DR. PAPACEK.

Volunteer and bunny expert TAMI makes the best vegan lemon pie you ever tasted.  Who knew tofu tasted so good?

So how many did YOU get right???
