May 2007 - What Does Lizzie
Say?
Dear friends: I really need your help right now with a
most unfortunate situation. Now, I know that
many of you read my column, because lots of you wrote to me again
last month. I heard from some of you who felt
that I had been too soft on the pet food executives who were
selling the bad foods that made some of us sick and even
die. Many of you thoughtfully provided more
colorful terms for me to use the next time I write about those bad
people. It was quite an education for
me. I had to ask my Mom to explain some of the
words you kindly suggested I use. MY GOODNESS!
Do you really let your owners talk like that at
home? I don't think that Mom will let me say
d------d or a-----e or the one where you most graphically described
where their heads had been or should be (is that even possible?),
but I will remember your words because I am sure they will be
useful someday - like if I ever run for public
office. |
Sorry, the Terrier-brain kicked in and I
got distracted...where was I? OH
YES. We have a sad situation at our
hospital. Have you looked at our KPR information
on the website lately? If you have, you will see
that Goldie, the kitty we have had so long, has not found a home
yet. I am getting very worried about
her. She is such a good cat, and she really,
really, really needs to go home with one of you.
I think it is very bad for her to be cooped up at the clinic for as
long as she has been. Whenever I go in to talk
to her, she seems so sad. I would be sad, too,
if no one wanted me. |
 |
I don't understand why no one
wants Goldie. She is so
pretty! Just look at her little
face. And she likes dogs, and other cats, and
she loves to be held. When my Mom works late at
night at the hospital, Goldie lays on the end of her desk and
watches and purrs. When she goes home for the
weekend with Chani, she plays with Chani's cats.
And she is all better from being sick when we got her, and all her
blood tests are good, and she is spayed, and she's not picky about
her food, and she always uses her litter box, and she just wants to
go home with someone who will love her. |
I bet that if everyone who reads my
column this month tells just three of their friends about Goldie,
and if they ask each of those friends to tell three more friends
about her, we could find her a home soon. And
someone nice to love her. It is spring, and a
kitty should have a nice sunny window to sit in (that's what my two
kitties tell me, anyway). And my Xena says soon
it will be time to catch June bugs (I don't understand why this is
special, but she say it is a lot of fun and that they are
deliciously crunchy - ewww!). |
|
Can you help me find a home
for her? I kinda told Goldie that I am the Boss
at the hospital and that I would try to help her, so I really need
you to come through for me. All you have to do
is tell any interested friend that they can call Michelle or Chani
at our hospital and schedule a time to come in and meet Goldie and
see if she is the cat for them. I hope I
can tell you next month that Goldie is in a home as good as
mine! |
