Medical research has shown that positive thoughts and visualized intention can have a substantial impact on a patient's health. Why not ask the members of the extended Knollwood e-community for their positive thoughts and intentions to help a family member (pet or person) you love? Simply email us at postmaster@knollwoodhospitalforpets.com with your family member's name and your Intention, and we will ask everyone who visits our site to send encouraging, warm, and peaceful thoughts in their direction! Note: All postings will be reviewed before publishing. We reserve the right to post intentions from visitors and non-clients based on time and space availability. |

Karl Gandt is asking for healing thoughts and good intentions for his beautiful cat, Olivia. Karl says, "Olivia is a wonderful cat who was just diagnosed with extreme leukocytosis. We are not giving up. She is (only) 10. As long as she remains comfortable, we hope she can remain with us. Her sister needs to have somebody to chase." Please send all of your peace and love in Olivia's direction for a long and happy life! |

*UPDATE: Michelle is now almost completely recovered, and all of us at Knollwood are very grateful for everyone's good intentions expressed for this indispensible Knollwood employee! Michelle, our Front Desk Supervisor, suffered a serious fall and severely sprained both ankles. Please send all of your positive, healing thoughts her way for a quick recovery and an end to her discomfort and pain. We're sending all of our good thoughts and love to you, Michelle! |

*Update - Ed thanks everyone for their positive thoughts and get-well wishes! He is fully recovered, back at work with his patients, and is grateful for everyone's support - and he DID dance up a storm at his niece's wedding in December!* Please send your positive thoughts and intentions to Dr. Mitchell's brother-in-law, Ed. Ed is an optometrist in Washington, MO, and is having surgery on multiple bulging discs in his back. He's been in a lot of pain and his family is hoping for a speedy recovery and an end to his severe chronic back pain. Ed is not only an outstanding optometrist, he's a dedicated family man, with a large extended family - in fact, he hopes to be back in shape to dance at two family weddings that are coming up later this year! So why, you might ask, would there be a picture of chili below? Because Ed is a force to be reckoned with at the annual Washington Great Chili Cook-Off, with a long tradition of first-place wins. So help us in sending Ed good wishes for a speedy recovery so that he can be well enough to enter and win the contest next year. (To speed his recovery in lieu of having his own chili to eat, Dr. Mitchell is sending Ed a traditional Chicago therapeutic remedy with known healing effects - Lou Malnati's deep-dish Chicago style pizza!) |

Old Max and Buford *Update* |
From Old Max’s mom: “Thanks so much for putting Max on the good intentions. The prayers are helping. His head is almost completely healed and he is actually using his leg a little more. That is really amazing due to all the tendon and muscle damage. He is truly an angel that God is helping. No other way he could be doing this well.” And Buford the Basset (pictured below): “Four weeks later, he's made an amazing recovery, and the vet here thinks he'll make a 100% recovery and be back to 'full speed' Buford in a few more weeks.” And as of July 4th, 2007, “It's probably not the best thing for him to be doing, but Buford's back to jumping again. All week, he's been using the stairs on his own without any fumbles or stumbles. And he's walking like he always did before (with the signature basset waddle). With his coat very close to being the length and thickness it was before his surgery, it's already starting to look and feel like none of this happened.” Thank you so very much to everyone who kept them in your thoughts & prayers. It certainly seems to be working! Lynn Wilson |

Please join me in sending good intentions and healing thoughts for the following two pups- The first is Old Max. He is an approximately 12 year old sweetie that was mauled & then ignored for days, while injured, at a pound in Kentucky. An angel named Debbie managed to pull him from the pound and accepted him into her shelter. He is now with her, trying to recover. I have been in contact with her & she is amazed at his will to live and at his gentle, loving nature- even after everything he has been through! Deb has fallen in love & decided that his traveling days are over and that he has found his forever home with her! He is recovering, but may need surgery once he is stronger. For now, he is gaining strength, enjoying slow walks outside & loving his new siblings! This is a picture of him (below) before the mauling. (Note: Lynn had included an after shot, but Max's injuries were very extensive and the picture was very graphic.) Please send your good thoughts that he may grow healthy and enjoy his senior years to their fullest. |

This other request is on behalf of Sonia - she is another volunteer with K9 Lifeline Rescue (a canine rescue group I volunteer for) and is asking for good thoughts for a beloved dog that used to be one of her fosters: Buford is a very happy & loving Basset Hound that was adopted from K9 Lifeline almost 3 years ago. He originally came from New Castle, IN. Two days ago for no apparent reason, his hind legs became paralyzed. His family is currently enroute from TN to Birmingham, AL to a specialist to determine what the problem is. Please say a little prayer for him. Buford is my grand-dog. Thank you, Sonia, Kirbs, Boo, & Belle I believe in the power of thoughts and prayers, and thank everyone who takes a moment to think of all those in need and send some good thoughts and a little bit more love their way. Thank you! Lynn Wilson |
