Dr. Mary Papacek, D.V.M.

Our Associate Veterinarian and Chief Surgeon

Dr. Mary Papacek earned her degree in veterinary medicine from the University of  Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Originally from Wisconsin, Dr. Papacek moved to the Chicago area after graduation to begin her career as a veterinarian. She brings over 20 years of experience in wellness-focused companion animal medicine and surgery from her work as an associate and a former practice owner.

Dr. Papacek's attention to excellence in patient care and the development of long term relationships with her clients helped make her Niles (Illinois) small animal practice extremely successful, and she is eager to share her expertise with us - and with you!  By focusing on wellness care and preventative medicine for companion animal pets, Dr. Mary Papacek customizes her veterinary care to her patients' medical needs and lifestyles.

Dr. Papacek is also a very skilled surgeon with an interest and expertise in soft tissue surgery and veterinary dentistry.  She is our Chief Surgeon, performing her surgeries on Mondays and Fridays.

She is definitely the one to see whenever your pet has surgery or dental needs!  She also has a special interest in the treatment of endocrine diseases.

Dr. Papacek shares her home with her dogs Matilda and Heidi, both 8 year old Australian Shepherds.

She currently sees patients at our practice on the following days:

Mondays from 9:30 am to 7:00 pm; Thursdays from 9:00 am to noon and 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm; and alternating Fridays and Saturdays (Friday from 9:30 am to 7:00  pm with Saturday off OR Friday from 9:30am to 3:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm).

Dr. Papacek will be attending the following seminars in 2008:

March 26-April 5: Attending the American Animal Hospital Association annual seminar.

Late last year, Dr. Papacek  enhanced her expertise in veterinary dentistry and dental surgery by attending the Veterinary Dental Forum conference. The Veterinary Dental Forum is hosted by the American Veterinary Dental Society, the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry and the American Veterinary Dental College. The Veterinary Dental Forum provides the best veterinary dental program in the world with the finest lectures and labs from top experts in the veterinary dental field.
