What Your KPR Donation Can Do

Your donation to the KPR funds will do more than just feed and medicate homeless or ailing pets. In the spring of 2005, a Knollwood Hospital for Pets employee noticed that her neighbor’s house was on fire. She also knew that this neighbor was a client at our clinic. After ensuring that the fire department had been alerted to the emergency, she immediately called the clinic to inform the doctors and staff of the situation since the family had numerous pets. The doctors and staff immediately sprung into action, setting up all emergency equipment for when the pets arrived at the clinic. Unfortunately, none of the pets in the house survived.

The doctors were very aware of how devastating the situation was to the owners of these beloved companions. They wanted to think of a way to comfort this family who was dealing with such a terrible loss. Knollwood Hospital for Pets employees went to the client’s house and transferred all of the pets back to the clinic. With KPR funds, Knollwood Hospital for Pets was able to provide the proper cremation for each of these pets – to give the owners a chance to say goodbye in a dignified manner.

As you can see, Knollwood Pet Relief isn’t just for animals – it’s for families. And we at Knollwood Hospital for Pets believe that our pets ARE our families. With every penny you donate to KPR, you won’t just hear a bark or meow of thanks – you’ll also hear the "thank you" from the grateful owners of these cherished pets.
