These articles are to educate pet owners so they can bring informed questions to their veterinary professionals. This information is to be used to supplement, not substitute, for the advice and treatment from your veterinarian.

Any drug information contained on these sites is also intended to supplement, not substitute for, the expertise and judgment of veterinarians. The information is not exhaustive and is not intended to cover all possible uses, directions, precautions, drug interactions or adverse effects, nor should it be construed to indicate that use of a particular drug is safe, appropriate or effective for any individual pet. Information is provided on the basis that the veterinarian responsible for patient care will retain FULL and SOLE responsibility for deciding what treatment to prescribe or dispense for patients and, in particular, whether the use of any drug or other product is safe, appropriate or effective.

Living With Blind Dogs

Living With Blind Dogs: A Resource Book and Training Guide for the Owners of Blind and Low-Vision Dogs, written by Caroline D. Levin, is a highly recommended resource for both young and old dogs that are blind or have low amounts of vision.  Dr. Tartof found this book very helpful in the care of her dog, Piper, who is blind, but still very active in agility training!

(The green title is a link to Amazon.com, but the book can be found at other retailers.)
